In the past months the Wean Committee and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service have been in negotiations with regards to a more permanent partnership. This partnership does not affect our current local charities program, but will exist alongside it.
One of the benefits of the partnership is the creation of a much bigger public transport option to the Wean Races, covering a much larger area. People wishing to catch a bus to Wean can now do so through Westpac Rescue. By taking this option, you will be supporting the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service and helping ensure no-one ever pays to be assisted by the Service
The existing buses run by private operators and hotels are of course still welcome. The Westpac buses will generally run from areas where there is no bus running, or from larger population centres which can easily accommodate more than one.
So, why not? They may be a little more expensive, but it still gives peace of mind as far as driving. And really, what a way to support a charity. Buy a seat on a bus that takes you to a great day out, have a great day and be merry, and catch the bus home again.
